To be honest, I think the judge is right in this case. The few JWs I have met, aside from trying to push the WatchTower onto me , have expressed themselves in terms of their own personal beliefs and hope for the future based upon their reading of the Bible.

Who am I to call into question their heart motivation? Who are we to pass absolute judgement?

You are right to a degree. I worked with a highcourt judge for a while and this guy had amongst other fine qualities - sexual perversions (always making suggestions to women about bondage & the like) and definetly racist. That may conform to a stereotype of sorts, but in this chaps case it was true.

Although there are probably exceptions to the rule of course. Maybe the odd wise Solomon out there. Hope prevails !

Is the rank and file aware of the serious dilema the WTS is facing?

the rank and file fears "apostates" hence jws will not accpet any evidence or arguments from succh like ones.

the mind set automatically rejects any charges against the wts without examining facts obejectivle because the wts cannot be wrong.by definition jws view the wts as god's agency, so it cannot be wrong and even if it is wrong, it is for a reason that god is allowing it and it is god's arrangement and not the business of the rank and file to judge for themselves on that but,to leave it in j's hand and in time it will be taken care of.

in law that is called a catch all, which is sometimes the power that a judge is empowered with by the state to use his discretion and do whatever the hell he wants, pardon the phrase.. it is true that the wts has opoosers that distort facts and trump up charges in order to discredit the wts, but false accustaions against thewts do not camcel out real evidence that challenges the wt and above and beyond wt teachings is the evidence that puts a differebnt spin on and shows another perspective of the bible, and the concept of god affecting in peoples lives.

world conditions don't seem to be disintigrating

A very interesting thread, aside from the above. Can't agree with that at all. I do believe the end of this system is on it's way, but I do not necessarily agree that one body of people will be the sole survivors.

Polution is a major factor within the scheme of degradation. The arms race ' is not ' slowing down. Technology advances yet lays waste to vast tracts of land. Love amongst the general population is diminishing in an outwards sense (for the main part). God no longer exists in the minds of the masses. The new God of evolution leading to the worship of the material realm has come to the forefront. etc etc etc

Is the Wt bursting at the seams with$ billions?

it is true that the society owns 10'0s of millions of $ to say the least in real estate, and monetary funds used to run the org.

but can anyone substantiate that the wt has billions of dollars in moneys such as cash in bank accounts, in stocks?.

if so, how does the wt justify having all of that wealth while most of humanity is in dire need?

Judging by the local Kingdom Hall, they appear not to have billions $$$ .... unless there is a board of directors somewhere smoking big fat cigars and sailing around the world flicking v's at the rank and file.

I don't think money is necessarily the issue here. As I see it, it is whether there is real worth within the door to door preaching work. If there is, then it doesn't matter.

i *can't* leave, i'm trapped.

i was talking to my twin sister tonight on how i didn't want to go to the upcoming convention this weekend because we had already been to it 2 months ago... .

i have to prepare some audition matrial for a arts event and my parents are not sympathtic to the fact i got allot to do, and we've already been.

Just do the 'widow's might' .... pop along to the odd meeting etc, study the Bible. Build a relationship with God through Christ and the rest of the time just expand your creative potential through painting/writing.

Remember to refer pests to the scripture about the widow and don't be too hard on yourself.

Ultimately they are probably judging you too harshly and will be condemned for doing so, if that is the case.

i feel like such a dufus sometimes .

i started attending a church a couple of years ago - i really like it but was really puzzled at first because they sang a lot of songs at the beginning of service.......like 6 or 7. i've gotten used to it - but still didn't really get it.

that is...until this sunday.

Maybe there is more to divine service than simply gesturing with hands and an outpouring of emotions?

The above is not a knock, simply an observation of your thoughts dear friend.

I think above all else righteousness requires obedience to God's laws. That appears to be the most significant aspect that the Bible teachers promote. That and helping others understand the word of God through Christ.

ok, help me out: i think this is an outright fabrication, but i know that the wt will have some lame quote to back it up.. in the material for the bookstudy this week, they say this:.

"in 1923, jehovah's servants discerned that "the sheep" of jesus' parable found at matt 25:31-36 and the "other sheep" to which he referred as recorded at john 10:16 are people who would have the opportunity to live forever on earth.".

no way, not unless i have been lied to all my life.

Hmmmm... interesting. The Oxford dictionary refers to a Gentile as:

".... person not Jewish or heathen" (Heathen = not a Christian, Jew or Muslim)

Now I have a headache - I'm not sure a ' class ' system is particularly useful to the Christian faith.

Maybe the "other sheep not of this fold" could refer to people of righteous intent who are born into other religious groups and never find extraction?

I'm not saying it's a fact, a possibility maybe?

genisis says that they were to multiply and fill the earth not that they would live forever.

if they were to live forever what was the tree of life for?.
